MusiCares is a resource to the music community impacted by the fires in the Los Angeles area. MusiCares provides short-term disaster relief, including $1,500 in financial assistance and a $500 grocery card, to music professionals impacted. MusiCares disaster relief is intended to cover short-term costs, should you incur costs from evacuating (hotel, food, supplies). MusiCares is also able to provide additional support for individuals with considerable impact, including medical issues, damaged music equipment or longer-term relocation needs.
Individuals are eligible for MusiCares disaster relief support after 3 years employment in music in any capacity OR credit on 6 commercially-released recordings. If you would like to request support from MusiCares, please reach out to musicaresrelief@musicares.org.

We Are Moving The Needle’s is launching a new MicroGrants fund to support audio professionals affected by the Greater Los Angeles wildfires.
Possible uses for the Wildfire Relief Fund include (but are not limited to):
– Replacement of studio equipment (microphones, headphones, monitors, etc.) due to fire damage;
– Studio repair due to fire damage;
– Additional support will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants will be asked to provide a clear explanation of the need for grant funds and how this will support your continued work in the field of audio. Successful applicants will have a clearly defined set of goals which this funding can tangibly “close the gap” to help make possible.
In alignment with We Are Moving The Needle’s mission to advance equity in the music industry, this specific MicroGrants initiative will provide targeted support for early and mid-career audio professionals affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

If you are self-employed, FEMA may be able to provide funds to repair or replace disaster-damaged tools and equipment required for your job. This help is available to a wide variety of applicants, including farmers, artists, musicians, mechanics and many other occupations.

The 100 Percenters group started the LA Wildfire Relief Fundraiser to benefit professional songwriters, producers, artists and music professionals. The fund will provide immediate grants up to $2,500 for housing, transportation and essentials; support rebuilding efforts with grants of up to $10,000 to replace equipment and “restore creative spaces”; and offer mental health support with grants of up to $2,000 for counseling and wellness services.

These grants provide need-based funding to artists who have experienced unexpected mental health, medical, or dental emergencies. The grant is open to artists in the visual arts, choreography, and a category called “film/video/electronic/digital arts.” Applicants cannot have earned more than $75,000 average gross income for their last two tax filings, or $150,000 for joint filers. Application closes at 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, January 14.
